The PCIM Asia is an international trade fair and conference specializing in power electronics, intelligent drive technology, renewable energy, and energy management. It was established in 2002 and has been held annually in Shanghai ever since. PCIM stands for Power Conversion and Intelligent Motion, accurately reflecting the focus of the fair. Furthermore, its role as a partner event to PCIM Europe underscores its international significance. The event is organized by Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co.
Ltd. at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), one of the leading exhibition centers in Asia. The fair covers a wide range of technical areas including power electronics, intelligent drive technology, renewable energy, and energy management. Exhibitors showcase a multitude of products and services from these and other fields. These include power semiconductor components and modules, integrated circuits, passive components, magnetic components and core materials, thermal management products, sensors, assemblies and subsystems, electric drives, power converters, power quality and energy storage products, test and measurement products, as well as software development and services. A highlight of the fair is the power electronics conference and its application in the fields of renewable energy and energy management. There is also an industry forum that deals with the issues of “CO2 peak” and “CO2 neutrality”. Additionally, an e-mobility zone and a third-generation semiconductor zone are organized. Exhibitors come from various sectors, including manufacturers of semiconductor and power electronic components, providers of intelligent drive technologies, and solutions for renewable energies and energy management. The main visitors to the fair are professionals from these areas, who are looking for the latest innovations and developments. The Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) is a modern exhibition center, well connected to public transportation and the road network. The city of Shanghai itself is a significant economic and cultural center in China, offering visitors a multitude of attractions and activities.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 29. August to 31. August 2023, about 181 exhibitors and 15348 visitors on the PCIM Asia in Shanghai.
