SWOP

SWOP, officially known as ‘Shanghai World of Packaging’, is an international trade fair focusing on the processing and packaging industry. This biennial event is organized by Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Co., Ltd. and takes place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), the second-largest exhibition center in China. SNIEC is conveniently located near the Pudong Airport and is accessible by various modes of public transport, including the impressive maglev train.

The SWOP fair provides a comprehensive platform that covers eight core product areas: food, beverages, confectionery, baked goods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, non-food consumer goods, and industrial goods. It highlights key packaging trends and offers insights into the future of the industry, with a special focus on the ‘SAVE FOOD’ campaign. This initiative concentrates on innovative packaging solutions, transportation safety, and waste reduction, contributing to the resolution of global challenges.
The fair is distinguished by two special exhibition areas: The ‘components’ section deals with the essential components of packaging machines, technologies, and software used in industrial packaging. On the other hand, ‘innovationparc’ serves as a platform for discussion and communication, inviting the exchange of creative ideas and experiences.
SWOP not only presents a wide array of products and services from the packaging industry but also offers valuable insights into current market trends and future developments. With its strategic positioning in the heart of Asia and as a hub of the packaging industry, the SWOP fair provides a unique opportunity for professionals from around the world to network, conduct business, and discover the latest innovations and technologies.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 07. November to 10. November 2017, about 487 exhibitors from 22 countries and 18118 visitors from 83 countries on the SWOP in Shanghai. The SWOP will take place on 3 days from Monday, 18. November to Wednesday, 20. November 2024 in Shanghai.
